Air and Fluid heaters Air Heaters Webasto air heaters are highly reliable, highly efficient products that employ advanced combustion technologies to provide a dependable heat output. Most Webasto heaters are available in both 12vdc & 24vdc configurations. Webasto heaters are used extensively in the trucking industry and can be found providing cabin heat in a myriad of applications from cranes to trucks. The AirTop 2000 is the smallest (in terms of heat output & physical size) of the 3 current models of air heaters offered by Webasto. It is roughly the size of a shoe box and is normally installed inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The heater is essentially a furnace that burns fuel in a sealed combustion chamber. The fan equipped within the heater draws air through the heater and across the outside of the combustion chamber which causes the air to become heated. The air is blown into the operator compartment. The heater has its own independent fuel system that draws fuel from the vehicle fuel tank and supplies only the exact amount needed for operation. All combustion intake and exhaust air is directed to the outside of the vehicle for safety. The AirTop 2000 is extremely efficient and provides adequate heat for most vehicle cabs in most climates. The AirTop 2000 is highly efficient, providing up to 20 hours of heat on a single gallon of fuel. Typically, most truck engines consume about 1 gallon of fuel per hour of idle time. Using an AirTop 2000 can dramatically reduce idle related fuel expenses and extend maintenance intervals since the engine is operating for less time.
Fluid Heaters Webasto fluid heaters are highly reliable, highly efficient products that employ advanced combustion technologies to provide dependable fluid heating. Webasto fluid heaters are used extensively in the truck, bus, coach and school bus industries and can be found meeting a variety of heating needs in a myriad of applications from RV's to boats. Webasto fluid heaters are available in several sizes that have varying outputs and need to be sized according to your application needs. They work on the same principle as air heaters, however they use a circulating pump to move fluid around the combustion chamber instead of air. The circulating pump then moves the fluid to the device that requires the heated fluid. Fluid heaters are used primarily for engine preheating. Fluid heaters are used extensively in school bus applications. School busses in particular, typically use smaller engines to gain higher fuel efficiency yet they need to provide heat for a huge passenger compartment. Webasto heaters are plumbed into the engine cooling system via the heater hoses and can operate in conjunction with the engine to add heat into the engine coolant. This boosts the available heat for the passenger compartment and also helps the engine run efficiently. Applications for fluid heaters are limited only by your imagination. The table below shows some examples.
