Description

The Thermostat senses the temperature of the evaporator coil via the capillary tube. When the temperature gets to the low set point of the thermostat, the thermostat switch opens and stops the compressor pumping. This prevents the evaporator freezing. When the evaporator warms up to the upper set point of the thermostat, the switch closes and the compressor begins pumping again.
